Microneedling
in Daytona Beach, FL
One of the most effective ways to reduce wrinkes and lines is to stimulate your own collagen production. A very effective way of doing this is through microneedling, which can be performed by Sergio M. Zamora MD, FACS for patients in Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, and the surrounding communities in Florida.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a procedure that involves creating controlled damage to the skin through the use of a Dermapen, a tiny, roller-like device containing hundreds of very small needles. When rolled over the top of the skin, the Dermapen creates micro-damage, spurring your body’s own natural healing process into high gear so that more collagen is produced in order to heal the wound. It can be performed on any area of the face or body and is particularly effective on areas with very thin skin. We Proudly Offer the new generation of microneedling system:
Benefits of Microneedling
Microneedling not only reduces fine lines and wrinkles, but it can also help tighten sagging skin and smooth away certain types of scars. It is often used in conjunction with hyaluronic serums or bleaching agents to help skin better absorb these products and deliver optimum results.
Who is the Ideal Candidate for Microneedling?
So long as your skin is healthy, you can easily undergo a micro needling procedure. There’s no need to worry about the negative effects of anesthesia or an adverse reaction from artificial ingredients like those found in dermal fillers.
What do I Need to do Before Microneedling?
Those who have a fear of needles are often concerned about having this procedure. However, the sensations produced by the Dermapen are actually rather mild, meaning that most people notice very little discomfort. Please let us know if you are anxious so that we may prescribe you a topical anesthetic or sedative to help calm your nerves.

IN OUR CLIENTS' OWN WORDS
What Should I Expect on the Day of my Microneedling Procedure?
We may ask you to cleanse your skin with an antiseptic cleanser and avoid wearing makeup or skin creams. Before beginning, Dr. Zamora will determine where to best roll the device in order to produce the desired results. He will then apply a topical numbing agent if necessary. Using smooth, even strokes, he will roll the surface of the Dermapen over your skin until the entire treated area has been covered. Finally, your skin may be covered with a bandage or antibiotic cream to help speed healing.
How Long Does it Take to Perform Microneedling?
That depends on the area being treated, but most procedures can easily be completed within 20 to 30 minutes.
What to Expect After Microneedling
You may notice redness, puffiness, and swelling following micro needling. Remember that this is normal, as your skin has suffered controlled damage. Over the next few days, this damage will gradually heal, and new collagen will begin to form. Only then will you be able to start noticing some results.
Will I Have Scars After Microneedling?
One of the things our Daytona Beach patients like most about microneedling is the fact that it leaves no scars whatsoever! Now it’s possible to look and feel your very best without having to worry about unsightly scars that might detract from your final results.
How Long Will the Results of Microneedling Last?
A micro needling procedure will temporarily increase collagen production. After two to three months, you may notice that your own natural supply is once again decreasing, at which time you may visit our office again for another procedure.
How Much Does Microneedling Cost in Daytona Beach?
The cost of each microneedling procedure is different and based on a number of factors that are unique to you. To make microneedling as affordable as possible, we accept cash, personal checks, and major credit cards, in addition to a number of affordable financing options.
Microneedling has been used very successfully for decades but is just now becoming a mainstream treatment. If you are wondering what all the hype is all about, please contact Sergio M. Zamora MD, FACS for a microneedling procedure if you are in Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Ormond Beach or any of the surrounding communities along the Palm Coast of Florida.
